The Round Texel, the world’s largest catamaran and regatta race, is an annual sailing race around the island of Texel. Starting and finishing at Paal 17, the route covers approximately 100 kilometers and forms the highlight of a three-day event full of fun, challenge, and competition.
For three days, Texel is entirely dedicated to watersports. The island comes alive with participants of all levels, from dedicated professional athletes to recreational enthusiasts. Catamarans, windsurfers, and wingfoilers fill the sea. On June 4 and 5, the Texel Challenge takes place: a series of races and challenges in preparation for the legendary round on Saturday, June 6. Watersporten
Met deze klasse is de Ronde om Texel ooit in 1978 begonnen. Verschillende type catamaran strijden en varen mee op het water rond Texel. Door middel van Texel Rating krijgen boten een rating factor zodat de finishtijd vertaald kan worden naar een tijd gecorrigeerd voor de specifieke eigenschappen van de boot. Op deze manier ontstaat er een vergelijkbare uitslag ondanks de vele verschillende type catamarans.
Op 4 en 5 juni vindt de Texel Challenge plaats: een serie wedstrijden en challenges ter voorbereiding op de legendarische ronde op zaterdag 6 juni. Check het programma hieronder.

- Nederlands Kampioen Texel Rating 2026
Windsurfen is niet meer weg te denken uit de Ronde om Texel! Sinds de beginjaren varen de raceboarders mee, daarna zijn de slalom windsurfers er bij gekomen die minder snel opkruisen maar dat inhalen op de ruime wind. En sinds 2019 natuurlijk de spectaculaire toevoeging van windfoilers, met hierbij natuurlijk de Olympische iQFoil-klasse. Van (oud)olympische kampioenen tot fanatieke recreanten: iedereen strijdt zij aan zij om Texel te bedwingen.

Recht uit Hawaii en razendsnel in opkomst: wingfoilen is dé nieuwste en meest spectaculaire klasse van de Ronde om Texel! Na een knallend debuut in 2023 tijdens de 44e editie, groeit deze sport in sneltreinvaart.

PARTICIPANTS’ CAMPSITE
PARTICIPANTS’ CAMPSITE
Sales for the Round Texel participants’ campsite have started. This year, as a participant, you can stay at the official Round Texel participants’ campsite, just 15 minutes from Paal 17. From Wednesday, June 3 through Sunday, June 7, the campsite is open for motorhomes, caravans, and tents.
An ideal base to complete your Round Texel experience together with other participants. Availability is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot in time.

Costs: €35 per night (based on 2 persons)
